What is Bauhaus?

In 1919, the German architect Walter Gropius founded the Staatliches Bauhaus in Weimar. Known simply as the Bauhaus (literally, "Building House" in German), it was an experimental art and design school that combined the study of craft, fine arts, and eventually architecture.

The influence of the Bauhaus is felt all over the world in architecture and design through the school's network of students and professors who continued the spread of Bauhaus ideologies during and after World War II.
